Avoiding the sun.
Is it unusual to see men using umbrellas (like you'd use if it was raining, not sitting under a garden one) to keep the sun off of them when walking around town?

Thanks for getting back, glad to hear it. It might be nice to use an umbrella for a change if I get fed with putting sun block on my face.

In Perth I have only seen ladies doing it.You do what you have to do to protect yourself.

My dad was never without a panama hat and a newspaper held aloft. gave him rsi though.

Pale skin historically means rich enough not to have to work in the fields. In some parts of Asia this has turned round to "tanned skin means rich enough to sit on the beach all day", which is a worrying trend, but skin whiteners still sell like crazy.
I use a silver (reflective) brolly occasionally in the sun, but I've never seen a guy do it. |
