My hubby has recently purchased a Mazda CX7 which is only available in activmatic (auto with a manual override) and I have to say that I am a covert, never will I purchase a manual again, its so nice and lazy to drive. Only problem is I keep stalling my car as I forget its manual.

my uncle worked for hertz car rental in uk.

A fat yank got off plane in heathrow, hired a car, then was on fone to hertz for 5 hrs bitching n whining.... sayin its slow n noisy etc...

He dropped the car off at Stratford-upon-avon, where my uncle had taken a new car, and to do a swap...

Turns out the fat yank, old boy, had driven from heathrow airport to stratford upon avon, at 65 mph in 1st gear !!!!!! thinking it was an auto...

See that's what I don't like about them they just seem less.....exciting maybe, more boring to drive. I don't like the lazy drive, I like an exciting drive

Yup, most of the cars seem to be automatic here. I deliberately bought myself a manual, though, lest I forget how to drive. It's very easy to forget how to use the left-hand side of your body when driving an automatic and getting into a manual after a few months of driving automatics can make for an interesting journey!

I wanted an automatic Barina - took me 4 months to find one as they were all Manual

There is quite a few manuals about here Martin, but I love my Automatic

There's also a lot of traffic lights, so you may only get to use the first three gears
