I have friends near Mardi, in the Jilliby area. Really scary.

Re: Australia's burning

Our nearest one is over 100 away. The wind is blowing the smoke out to sea and then back in over us. Air quality is shit, visability is hazy, it's as hot as hell and everything is brown dust. There is also very little wildlife around no matter how many water stations we put around. Wtf it's going to be like in the middle of summer and beyond is hard to comprehend.

It's bloody terrifying. I know it's already been said, but adding my very best wishes to BE members affected in any way by the fires. Have never wished so much for rain as I do now.

This is about 10 km north of me. My daughter was evacuated about an hour ago. https://7news.com.au/news/wa/emergen...-park-c-600882

Hope they manage to contain it and C is able to get back to her home. Scary the petrol station going up.

Nasty one Dorothy. Thanks goodness your daughter got out safely. I could smell the fire from Morley.

Thanks everyone. #1 daughter is fine, her house is fine, and other than smoky around us we're all good. The fire is pretty big, though with the watch and act now stretching up to Two Rocks to the north and Eglinton to the south.

Rain BEVS. We need rain right across the country, much of it has been in drought conditions for several years.
