Re: Australia - My honest opinions
He likes living in Australia, but is becoming increasingly frustrated about the backwards manner in which certain proceedings are conducted, and doesn't understand why it can't be more like the UK, where the climate is amenable but cold, and the wildlife is generally inoffensive and non racist.

I can give him his opinion:

Re: Australia - My honest opinions
During my last visit to family in the UK i witnessed a person yell "stupid monkey" at a pub television when an african footballer made a bad error ... I also heard people discussing gypsies while using very nasty words.... what a racist nation.
Some songs at the football were about "shooting the pompey scum" .. even though 1000s and 1000s were singing this it never made the media or press. Something similar in the australian national rugby league would be massive news in Australia .... this is because the UK accepts violence and thuggery as normal everyday behaviour. It is so uncivilised in the UK these days. It's great days are well behind it..
The UK ---> A violent and racist society.

Re: Australia - My honest opinions
My older daughter's school gear (just the uniforms and school bag from Bob Stewart) set me back $900 - and this is not even a private school!!! I am yet to be billed for her school fees (including the not so voluntary donation to the school fund) and books - will set me back another $2,000. Then there is a 3 day orientation camp immediately after school starts - think that is around $500! The only silver lining I can see is that it is supposedly one of the best schools in Mel
I paid my younger daughter's fees in Dec for 2010- she is in primary school. Including books, the first term costs were $509. This doesn't include uniforms - around $400.
School uniforms are hideously expensive!

Why would non racist football chants make the news?
Good job all of the Aussie rugby league players and fans are always so well behaved.
