Re: Aussie High school kids, an example from Melbourne.
Everyone has their own comfort zones and I do agree that the word I refered to is used freely between friends of the same race, and I am sure you will use that word with friends,I do find it bizzare.Pupils at my childrens school use the n word quite freely to decribe other pupils with colour even though most of them are auzzies with tans, also the cheese in the supermarkets called coon.Thankyou for replying the world is a strange place sometimes regards z

Excellent film!
My nieces in the UK do do this kind of thing; in fact one was chosen to go to summer school one year to further her skills, and the next year went to help teach them to the younger students. I'm pleased at how rounded an education they seem to be getting. It's the same school I went to 30 years ago and, in those days, we were even discouraged from doing an art O level because it was a waste of time. (Most did it as an extra one, in their own time.) It's amusing to hear somebody say the UK school curriculum is all about results, as when Brits move here they criticise the local system for being just that - and put their kids into private international schools. I guess there must be different degrees of it. Re. "wog", it still makes me wince but I have an Aussie-Italian mate here, from Melbourne, that insists it's ok. |

:DJust wanna say a big thanks for posting that. My 6 year old is so worried about moving to Oz for the simple reason he thinks they dont play football, i can tell you now he has changed his mind (thank god). Hats of to the students who made the film and tell them the message they were trying to get across has worked for at least one little boy lol. |
