I live in hope of the £ pound gaining value against the $ Oz!
I know its good for you guys out there already, but us guys left in the UK for the moment will really feel the pinch when we make our money transfers!!
We leave for Perth on 17th Aug and are hoping that it makes a slight recovery by then to around $2.20 at least?!
Guess its just luck of the draw, but we keep our fingers x'd!
Good luck to all

Personally I think it will go below 2:1 shortly.

Interesting...
We changed at 2.05 last year BIG mistake as it hit 2.7 only a few months later, I felt physically sick and couldn't stop checking every day even though it made me feel even worse.
Now its low again, it would be a good time for us to move back and at least do well out of the exchange in that direction but selling the house right now wouldn't get us a great price so it's all swings and roundabouts really.
So there are always those who want it to hit 2.00 and those who would like it to soar up again, maybe it could sit in the middle somewhere

And there was me a few years back sweating on the fact than I "only" got 2.47 on the proceeds on my house sale.

We were in such a rush to move our money over (lots of reasons, all stupid)and were ill advised by H**x, that we lost out a potential $100k, it still gets to me, but we never actually had the money and it's gone now. But I'd like to be on the right side of the exchange rates for when we move back, but who knows what they be by then!

It may be bad for transferring money but it also makes the Aus wages look better
