Aussie 1 and 2!
OK, not expecting many replies to this but this is, to me, the most important sporting contest in the world. The surfing world tour.
The latest event, France, finished today with a BANG!!
Gold Coast locals Joel "Parko" Parkinson and Mick Fanning collided in the final of th event after devastating displays throughout the contest.
Both fully deserved their places in the final with Parko defeating the reigning champ and 3 time world champion Andy Irons in the semi final while Fanning destroyed 7 time world champ Kelly Slater in his semi.
Parko totally dominated the final and completely annhialated Fanning to win his first title of the year.
Neither stand a realistic chance of winning the title but an awesome result anyway.
Shame Taj was knocked out early though
