Attention Floorlayers In Oz!

im looking for a sponser to get me straight into work in oz. i have e mailed loads of firms but no joy.
im a self employed floor layer / finisher with experiance in most hard flooring and sanding.
im looking for some advice on the working conditions in oz and possibly to make some contacts on the east coast.
how do expats find laying floors in the heat... and can you earn the money over there in this trade?
im going to send off for my skills assessment next so fingers crossed.
any feedback will be much appreciated.

You can earn good money on large areas & if your a competent floor sander you could earn a good living just doing that. The heat really isn't a problem, head down bum up & you forget about it.

I wouldnt get too excited about floor sanding. It doesnt pay what we used to get paid in the Uk.
You need continuity of work, and its a well populated trade in Qld. So do your homework .
Personally, I would apply to the majors. Even the likes of Karndean, if your a vinyl layer.
For hardwoods, its a tad more difficult. As the emphasis here is on revival not replacement, and well refer to above.
However, if you are experienced in glue down, direct stick and liquid battens, then you could well find yourself busy.
