Not that stupid, I told the OH we need time to recover from flights so we'll be in presumably tv enabled 4/5 Star hotel in Alice til mid way thru Perth fifth day (will be all over by then) :sneaky:

Back in civilized bits of SA by the time the Melbers Test starts.

Having been on four previous trips to Oz when we got routinely humiliated (yes I've still got the NZ t-shirts I wore) I won't be shy this time to talk Ashes with the locals, pity that with this head cold I've temporarily lost my voice innit. :o

Excellent, I know the feeling of losing your voice, I had bronchitis during day 1 and 3 of the Brisbane test, I didn't have much to shout about though ...

That's a melody used ad nauseum in most football stadiums.
The closest I can get it to is 'Son of My Father' by Chicory Tip. A woeful tune!

What's the general consensus about James Anderson here. I personally think he couldn't hit a cow's 4rse with a banjo! Terrible action. I worry when the pundits start relying on players like him.

He's been the pick of the bowlers so far, from both teams too. He has had some spells in this tour so far that have been completely unplayable. He bowled amazingly well at Brisbane for no return. Bowled exactly the same at Adelaide and finally got his just desserts

I am insanely jealous.

Still, the only good think about the Perth test starting at 1pm (Sydney) is that it coincides with the child's nap time. At least I get a couple of hours of uninterrupted viewing.

I think he's improved immensely, he does have a pretty downbeat look about him, that's the only criticism I've got.
