The footage they are talking about has been around for many years and seems to have surfaced again to suit the current situation. I had the misfortune to see the whole video perhaps 6 or 7 years ago and I can still remember it vividly. Unfortunately while we can sell all our resources to China it will largely be overlooked.

I cant click on links with disturbing animal footage. It haunts me
Willing to sign all petitions but please can people posting them make it 2 links, one to the petition and one to the footage.

By forging economic links with China we seem to be condoning horrific abuses of animals and human rights. Look at cat and dog farming and bear bile farms. Horrible stuff that isn't going to change in the short term. Most Chinese believe tortured flesh tastes better and are prepared to consume any endangered species for a boost in virility. It's so wrong - just hope they find scientific enlightment quickly and stick to the one kid policy...

Article on TV last night (not sure which programme) which discussed this and showed footage.
Dog skins are also being used in clothing imported from China and sold here.

The dogs shown last night were ordinary domestic breeds such as German shepherds and labradors etc.

Both. Chairman Mao, I understand, dictated that kindness to animals is bougeois so a culture shift is required. The Ugg boot managers are the biggest wankers as they either knew or can't control their factories and the end buyers for not caring what happens to the animal as the boots look cute on little Johnny.

And yet the article is good enough to reference - if we live in this world, we have a responsibility to know what is happening and the effects of our actions. If mainstream won't cover it, I am happy to link even to the tabloid Daily Mail. For example, I will no longer purchase items with faux or real 'fur'.

It is a paper that makes stuff up and has more care for fluffy pets than fellow humans that are suffering.
