And if not why not?

Behind every reference to a Pom (whinging, arrogrant or otherwise) lies a desperately insecure Australian.

Have pity on the little fella, they deserve sympathy, it must be terrible living a life that basically always knows it is inferior to it's betters/masters.

Give the colonials some slack, they will learn :)

They are entitled to their opinions- it is just barracking, and as arrogant poms we should just rise above it all.

If you think rugby players have small shorts, check out the aussie rules footie players!!
Or for the boys and those that way inclined, check out the lingerie league football!!!

Oh not being sensitive I just didn't know that is how we are perceived, but by who? The media trying to get everybody riled up for the cricket?

Oh and didn't know the Kiwi's had a nickname either, not a sports lover as you can tell. :D

BTW, not that I am necessarily endorsing that view of course, but I am quite surprised that you didn't know that the English were perceived as arrogant.....don't you have the irish, welsh and scottish telling you that whenever they can ? :) What are your press hiding from you ? :)

Re: Arrogant Poms

Arrogance as a trait is very severely frowned upon in Australian society and culture and violates societal norms.

It may be more accepted in England, but over here you will quickly make enemies if you are arrogant, or come across as arrogant. The whole 'tall poppy' thing is based around this. People who are over confident in an ungracious way are soon cut down.

This applies to arrogant Australians as well. Many Australian sports people and identities that come across as arrogant are despised here as well. Australians like down to earth people who are on the same level.
