Arrogant Poms

So I was at the doctors this evening, don't normally watch the news or read the newspaper............so there was this big write up today on the Cricket............like how some Aussie "firebrand" had beaten the Arrogant Poms....do you feel like you are an Arrogant Pom, is it PC to say this?

And if not why not?

Certainly when I was younger, Aussies would give me shit about being English and arrogant which was pretty funny as in London, I was considered as lower than a barnacle.

Its interesting to read that many English sportsmen are considerably well-educated. The Underwood brothers are Air Force pilots, latest rugby union champ, Toby Flood is a lawyer in training, even Nasser Hussein studied economics and the list goes on. In Australia, they tend to be sportsmen and thats where it ends. I think this really troubles the Aussie ego.

Stiff shit eh!?

I don't feel like I am an arrogant pom. No, it isn't pc to say this.

Reason 1. It's racist.

Reason 2. Poms can't help being better than Aussies.

Surprised by this observation....Australian Rugby has the same private school affiliation that it has in England and many of the Rugby players are well educated etc...doesn't seem much different.

My point isnt public or private schooling but having 2 different careers is just good business sense.

My point wasn't public or private either....was referring to your:

"many English sportsmen are considerably well-educated .... In Australia, they tend to be sportsmen and thats where it ends."

Was surprised by that statement, and was pointing out that the rugby players in Australia come from a similar more privileged educational background as the English rugby players with many holding degrees in law etc.
