Oasis were here last year I think.
Franz Ferdinand at the BDO?
Coldplay is coming to Perth in July (we're going!)
Arctic Monkeys are great, get played on Triple J all the time!
My goodness, I don't think the Spice Girls have ever been as big in Australia as any other country.
It's always been more rock over here(or maybe that's just Perth, or maybe just my 'crowd'. Actually, no, popular radio plays way more rock.
Oh, I am comparing with the Netherlands though.....

No Glasto this year though
so had thought of Reading, I've got tickets for V and for T in the Park - mind you I've realised today that I'm going to see Rolling Stones on 26th August so good job I didn't get any :scared: Oh, and for the OP - Arctic Monkeys are ace live, I had a thread on them a while ago on here. If I was in Sydney I'd come to see them

Oh well, I guess we were lucky to get tickets in a way - seems like there are lots of people who have missed out this year, largely to do with the fact that Glasto's not on....

I've certainly noticed that Aussies tend to be very much into their rock music. I'd be surprised if the Monkeys weren't big there.
One thing I will miss in Aus will be the music scene: I remember talking about Glastonbury and the other festivals to Aussies I worked with near Emerald. It seems that they just don't have anything on that scale there, though quite a few bands do visit Aus on tour, so check for who's playing in your neck of the woods.
Oh, and try and discover local bands, as I heard a few that I'd never heard of before arriving in Aus whom I thought were rather good!

We first went to Glasto in 1998, there were still tickets available I think at the time of the festival - mainly because people just used to jump over the fence! Since the super fence was created tickets have sold out in record time - year before last I spent 24 hours solid sitting at the computer with two mobile phones just constantly trying :scared: I was like a Zombie! Ended up getting some in a resale after they took them off the touts

Lot of gigs are going that way now - touts must have some kind of software that blocks us all getting our tickets I reckon!
