Point taken. My mother worked for social services in the UK, mostly covering serious child abuse cases so I'm aware of the seriousness and certainly not trying to belittle it.

People find humour in the darkest of places. Doesn't mean they don't know or understand the horror behind it. It's a way of dealing with shit.
Made me chuckle (once I worked out who the guy was - he doesn't look as scary as he did in the 70s).
