If you're missing friends and family I can't really comment but if you're coming back because you miss the scenery or just the country in general ...
It's been piddling down all day!!! I mean ALL day. Hasn't stopped at all. Was hoping to get to the shops but it's too miserable to drag little people out. They're bored silly, we've spent virtually the whole week in the house due to forementioned s0dding weather. Outdoors is out of bounds unless I want to save myself the job of bathing them tonight... Indoors stuff costs loads. Why? Well places that offer indoor activities have the monopoly don't they? It's always miserable in this country so you HAVE TO go to these places.
At 2pm this afternoon cars were starting to drive around with their headlights on due to it being so grey outside.
Why oh why would anyone want to live here?!?!!?
What I would give to have the freedom to just pack a picnic and take them off outdoors for the afternoon/evening.
Excuse the miserable tone. I'm just having a miserable day and a miserable rant to go with it.
Food for thought for anyone wanting to come back to this.

But do you have any idea of how many people in Aus dream of hearing it rain?
I have the radar map on the pc at present, lovely big blur of rain heading for us just now, but its broken up over the sea. No rain again. .......

everywhere's miserable in the rain...except possibly at the moment Australia, which is praying for it

Don't forget too that we've had an exceptional spring so far - we were well overdue for this rain

My back garden looks like a swamp after yesterday's rain, and the dining room is full of laundry which won't dry as the heating's not on cause it's not actually cold, just grim.
I know Australia is crying out for rain. But when it's all that you ever get, it wears you down.

Dark, overcast, rainy days don't depress me at all. I find them quite refreshing after the unforgiving glare of the Australian sun.

Granted, we did have a good sunny spell for a couple of weeks, but it's as if the weather gods just do it to tease us. Woohoo time to buy summer clothes and book days out and plan BBQ's yay! Aha - they're all ready for summer, let's give them a couple more months of rain
Grr
Apologies if I offend any Oz residents with this post - I know you're having it tough right now and I'm not trying to be insensitive. Wouldn't mind a bit of a summer glow though
