I was told that it came from some old English word where "thick" in the head ment something else it was a complement.

I am originally from spondon derby!
I moved to N.ireland when I was 10
Me - Mark.......and my wife and son are moving to Bundy just as soon as we can.
Going on a 136 which we are still waiting on
seems to be dragging on a wee bit........hope to be there by june at the latest so fingers crossed
Anyways.........just hought I'd say hi to everyone from derby

Nope, we won't be going back to the UK in a hurry, life is far too good here
