Re: any handymen know how to fix this?
Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has any idea how to fix this problem with the back patio. Sensible answers only please.
there was a small spa type pool there and it looks to me like the paint has been bleached by the chlorine.
Is there a remedy bar painting each individual patch on the whole patio?

It also looks like the section under the spa just stayed cleaner than the surrounding area. Nothing sinister, we come across the same problem quite often.
The easiest remedy is to buy some TR40 from Bunning's or Melco apply diluted with a yard brush, leave for 10 mins & swill away with a hose.
Just after Christmas we tiled a spa area for a customer, they have just upgraded their spa & she rang to say that her tiles had faded, they hadn't it was that the under spa area had not become as dirty. That was probably only 10 weeks ago

Hi Jazzy,I can't really tell from the photo, but I was thinking leave it right, but buy some nice plant pots, and arrange them to cover over the area. Not sure if this is possible or whether it would look odd as I can only see one corner of your patio.Sorry can't help with the staining thing,I'm going for the quick fix option!

I appreciate your efforts guys but i don't just want to hide it.
Somewhere down the line the house will be sold and the lighter ring will be evident to any potential buyer.

To reiterate what others say - don't do anything unless you have tested it on a tiny bit first - there are many possible causes and remedying the wrong one can only make things worse!

Hi guys not tried anything yet. To be honest its not my drive so i'm not too sure what the owner is going to do. I have been struggling to find work in my trade so decided to do a little bit of handyman work and if i'd had a fix for it, it could have been worth a couple of grand to me.
However, with so many unknowns, I think its a job best left alone.
Thanks for all your helo guys, i really appreciate your efforts.

PS, if anyone in the south brisbane area wants anything done let me know. We are fully qualified painters and decorators and are available for full house paints, internal and external. But any handyman work is also very welcome.
