Default Antonov Cargo Plane

Did anyone else see it coming in to land at RAAF Pearce today? It flew directly over my block...and I couldn't find my camera What a size, incredible. This is the second time in the last 3 months that an Antonov has been to RAAF Pearce.

We were outside working in the garden around then. We live not too far from there, so I'm surprised I didn't notice. We don't really see/hear many planes here so I tend to look up when I hear one.

They are regular visitors to East midlands airport in the UK

We see them fairly regularly.

Impressive planes.

Was it the 6-engined one? If so, it's the An225 and there is only one of them flying. The military all over the world use it to move extra heavy/bulky stuff around. I've seen the 4-engined Antonov at Perth International before.

I would have loved to have seen it.

It was the 4 engined one. It looked incredible as it was approaching us as it was dead on, so you couldn't see the fuelage just the wingspan, and as got closer you started to see the fuelage appear. It appeared to be very low as it flew overhead, but was probably just at normal landing approach height and the size of it made it look lower
I regret not having my camera as it would have made a superb picture.
