If we are being official, Australia never went into recession.

Spot on and expect a lot more.

Adapt or die.

Slightly off-topic, but on the same page, I see Fred West's still alive and well and working as a chef in Mexico, of all places. Reports of his demise were obviously exaggerated.

Hmm, I remember seeing on the news it being reported that Australia was officially out of recession. That would mean we had to have been in there in the first place.

You're getting confused with Austria, it's easily done.

I'd never heard of WoW until I saw the news last night. The picture of the shopfront was enough to convince me I'd missed nothing.

Stopping at Singapore did seem to be a bit ridiculous.

Usual definition of recession is 2 quarters of -ve GDP growth - that didn't happen.

Some people use a measure of a 1.5% rise in the unemployment rate over 12 months - that didn't happen either.

Well the point still stands. America was and is in recession, Australia didn't suffer like they did/are.

Fair enough but it never actually happened.

Fred West walks into a bar. The publican asks him what takes his fancy. "I could murder a couple of Tennants", said Fred

Yes, officially avoiding a recession because of huge amounts of stimulus payments really means nothing when you look at how retail, tourism, manufacturing and most other sectors are suffering. It is no different to what has happened elsewhere, it is just down to official figures.
