Supposedly you can request leave without pay in Government jobs as well. Only time I've seen it happen is with very ill family or bereavement issues.
I guess it depends how you look at it. Your original salary is obviously is lower than it could be because they factor in your standard 4 weeks leave - so renegotiating your contract to take a lower salary again for extra leave just seems like the same process to me.

Heard him on the radio and Howard Sattler asked him when he took his last holiday and he replied with a week at Christmas, he was too busy to take any more.

At Aussie post they have a 48/52 scheme which enables you to purchase 4 weeks additional leave each year. You have to say when that leave is going to be when booking it and you can only do it in October each year. The money is taken on a fortnightly basis from your yearly salary. I am buying 4 weeks for next September as I am off to Italy touring and alway use my allocated annual leave for other holidays.

Personally, a year without a few holidays is not fun for me.

In the dreaded contact centre. Only do part-time - gives me enough money to keep me in clothes, manicures, lunches and other such necessities of life!!!!

Hope they are treating you good..... Tis the end of Night Shift at Delivery Centers.... Which is probably a blessing for me. It'll take ages to implement though... 4 years or more If my last 16 years at post is anything to go by.

Good Luck and watch out for Steve Ousley bearing "Cuts"
