Joins the list of music industry people who died at 27.
A waste but no real surprise.

Was just going to say that, 27, the age rockstars go to heaven...
I didn't actually realise she was that young. Surprised also to find from the list that Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix were only 27!!!
Um.... this is the "official" claim to notability by good ol Wikipedia English Choked on hairball. Advised by manager to get haircut. Tried going into rehab for a hair addiction but she said no no no

Hmmm... One self indulgent drug addict dies... And the world forgets how many deaths is it now in Norway...
I've been gobsmacked at how few mentions on certain social sites about norway, and how many on the wasted crack whore.... Sorry, incredibly talented young lady given every advantage and assistance
Every life is precious but wtf is that about?

Not suprised, just suprised a bit that she lasted that long. Sorry for her family having to watch her kill herself so slowly and publicly.

Saddening but predictable comments below, like this one. Personally I was very sad to hear this news when I got up this morning. Addiction is terrible & tragic. Of course what happened in Norway yesterday is tragic in the extreme. Why criticise people for being vocal about the things they relate to most though - that's the only reason there's more noise on the social media sites, not because people are heartless with regard to the attacks in and near Oslo. "The world forgets"?! Get off your moral high horse, jeez!
When addiction is down to self indulgent, I can do more drugs than anyone, egotistical look at me I'm a F*&@ing rock star - its not tragic its embarrassing. It's part of a crap popular culture that we have created because we but these people on a pedestal despite the bad example they set.
And that culture we have created is the reason more people will talk about Amy than Norway. We can deal with Amy, we knew this would happen, it doesn't hurt much and after all she's a celebrity. Norway is too emotional for people to deal with - because it's happening to real people, and it's too painful to imagine what it would be like if it happened to us, so we block it out.

I disagree. Addiction is terrible and tragic sometimes. Like when it happens because the individual is self medicated for undiagnosed mental illness, or to dull the pain of childhood trauma like abuse.

And it's not a path that someone chooses just to prove that they can do more drugs than anyone else, are you mad, who would choose that death?!
