There is a difference between 'naked broads' and 'naked broadband' you realise.

But in the end, I suppose you can see naked women with either.:p

My trouble is that the only pimp operating locally is Telstra Wholesale and you pay a lot of bucks for his broad whether naked or not.

Another vote for iinet here....and I would advise steering well clear of Optus too. We suffered for months and months and months with internet connections which would drop out for hours at a time, often several times a week. Their tech support is absolutely woeful, never will you experience a more frustrating experience! They insisted it must be our line.....which strangely was up 100% of the time once we sacked them and got iiNet as our ISP.

We are using AAPT, and they seem pretty good, havent had any issues since we signed up with them, not heard a peep out of them.

I would like Iinet but they have quoted us nearly 400 bucks for the connection and that 'Bob' thing.

Huge outlay for us.

I used them for broadband for a couple of years.
They had a bad customer service rep back then but the couple of times I needed them I had no problems at all.

Only reason I switched was I wanted to dump Telstra completely so when I moved house I went with AAPT who have also proven to be excellent.

Today I had a row with them and told them to disconnect me ASAP and that if they attempted to take cash from my account unauthorised then that would amount to theft.

I am considering Optus at the moment, I have noticed that all plans except the $129 have an excess broadband charge, that would worry me a bit. I dont download stuff I am just mainly on here and FB.

God I hate Telstra and I am glad I am not the only one who feels this way.

We changed to Optus and 4 months later have had no problems. We are on the $129 plan as have 2 kids. But bonus is all mobile calls and calls to anywhere in Oz are free and now we just use a phone card to phone the uk. It works out for us a $100 cheaper than Telstra.

Im looking at the 20gb plan for $99. I only come on here, Youtube and Facebook and dont download music or movies.

And they dont charge you to stay out of the phonebook.

And therein lies the problem. I'm not in an area that can get broadband over the phoneline. So our only option is cable, which is Telstra. So even if I hated them I'd have no choice.

But I don't hate them. They're ok. Obviously if I had the option to go to a naked bradband plan with another provider I would take it. But I don't,

Same here - we have landline, Foxtel, broadband and mobiles with them and not had any real problems.

Edit - we have the $99 plan and step-son is always online downloading porn!! and we don't go over. Can get a bit slow at the end of the month if we are nearing our max but that is all

Yes, they are ok. Lots of data for the price. Although that encourages lots of people downloading (torrents etc.) so it can be slow at peak hours.

Have you checked how much you actually use ?

We rarely go above 10Gb, and I am always on the internet.
It used to be about 4gb, until my daughter started using the net for her music downloads !!

I switched from Telstra to aanet and (engin for Voip) combined $70pm covers internet and free landline calls in Australia and UK/USA

The cheapest ADSL2+ in Australia used to be $ 5.00 per month, but it appears to have gone up to $5.99 now

Well thats hitting the nail on the head!

If you just surf the web, you'd get by on 3Gb, if you download music, maybe 10 Gb. If you use bit torrents to download Uk and US movies and tv shows, hmmm:eek: maybe 200Gb would be nice.

You don't have to get Bob. It is their premium product but you can use any voip router. You could ask them about cheaper alternatives or buy a cheaper router elsewhere.
