Does everyone get so nervous? lol
My partner has got a job in Perth, an inter company transfer and we have just lodged our 457 visa application.
Next job put our stuff in storage to await shipping pending visa approval and rent the house out.
It is a dream of mine and my partner's to go to Australia, its been a bit stressful but we are getting there and we support each other all the time.
I'll be leaving a job I am happy in here if the visa is approved but sure I will be able to find another job in Perth
Just so nervous, wish I didn't worry so much.. sure things will work out fine.
After all life is no rehearsal right! Life has taught me that through a tough period of my life most luckily don't have to go through.
Just wanted to air some feelings.. chin up and looking forwards

OMG... Four years ago we were in a similar place to you... And I just got a physical flashback to the feelings I had at that time... An emotional roller coaster....
But you're 100% right .... this one isnt the dress rehersal... Its live and the cameras are rolling...
Fast forward to Shockingham april 2011... Happy in job, happy at home... A TOTALLY different lifestyle... Calm, contented and serene...
And not having to raid the kids money boxes at the end of the month... Like we used to.... Well, not every month..... Being paid fortnightly helps....
The waiting is a killer isnt it?

I've been in a little daze since the visa was submitted on Thur this week. I got asked twice at work last night, 'Are you ok? You look a little pale?' When more than one person asks you if you are ok, you think do I really look that bad?! lol.. No one knows at my work yet so its just 'Yeah I'm fine, just a bit knackered'!
Trying to juggle 'normal' home and work life whilst organising a 'new' life with military precision.. hence I feel less than 'normal' at the moment.
Yet........ its lovely to hear from someone that has been where we are and got through to the to the other side and are happy
The waiting is hard but all things worth something in life, require hard work and risks otherwise they wouldn't be worth it right?
See you there ( all being well

It is a nervous time, and very stressful, after all it is a huge life change, so it is a very natural thing.
Just be prepared for aching cheek muscles from all the smiling you'll do when you finally get here.

It is completely nervewracking! For some anyway! My brother rocked up to Sydney airport with an ETA in his pocket and sod all else. 11 years later he's married, living in a lovely house in Wollongong and has a beautiful daughter, just got promoted at work
I on the other hand have been planning our move for YEARS, and as for lists, I have a spreadsheet of lists (I wish I was kidding!!) I mull over every aspect of everything which drives the husband nuts but at the end of day it helps me feel surer of what we're doing.
The vesy best of luck with it all and as has been said before, this place is invaluable for information and more importantly, support so make use of it
Tx
