Has it all got to be expensive stuff (well.. you know what I mean?).. how about some decent hand cream or one of those posh glass emery board thingy? And does she have a top up phone? You could put a voucher in for when she is nearly out of credit? Expensive shampoo/conditioner? Like a Nicky Clarke or Toni & Guy one? Or hit the beauty houses and buy a Dior sheer lipgloss (most girls will wear that sort of thing.. but its nice to have a posh one with Dior or similar written down the side! 
errr... you could go sentimental and get her a great photo of you and her and put it in a jazzy (scuse pun!) frame... errr..

If I'd got shampoo for my 18th birthday, even one made by someone fancy, in a 'fun' box of stuff, I'd have been gutted.

I love that one. It doesn't have to be mushy or sickly sweet, but just a nice letter with some of your favourite memories.

How about some Jurlique products, chocolates from an Australian company (there's one in Adelaide but I can't remember the name right now), Tea Tree products, a nice photo of the 2 of you in an Aussie photo frame, Ugg boots?
Honestly, Jazzy I think a visit from you would be a great gift and she's going to be thrilled just to see you.
