Hi Paula

Yes Andrews farm is just around the corner from Smithfield plains and would only take 10 mins in the car on a morning to Blakeview. There is also a private school called ST Columbus in Andrews farm which has quite a good reputation. We were actually concidering sending ours there if we had of stayed permenantly. If you can't drive then it is no good sending them to Blakeview as it would take you a good half hour to walk from Andrews Farm. There are closer schools which are in Smithfield Plains but they are being pulled down soon, but I would not send any of mine there anyway having met the head teachers it was a big no no.

Wouldn't live in Glenelg :D Nah, really I'd have no problem living anywhere, the roughest parts of SA are no worse than the roughest parts of where I came from and we lived there quite happily for years ;)

Any idea's on Andrews Farm we have seen some lovely houses on internet but want to be pretty close to family in blakeview, so is it near to blakeview and what's the area like ?

Thanks
Paula

Yep, all pretty close really. There all decent areas but really you need to look at them yourself to know if it's where you want to live. I thought I wanted to live in Mawson Lakes where my family where, but after living there for 8 months we decided that it didn't really do it for us in the end. So best thing is for you to have a really good look around, rent somewhere for a while and then after a bit you'll know if it's where you want to be long term. :)

Our on arrival house was in Surrey Downs. Some nice little houses up there and good prices. Surrey Downs primary is a nice little school, too.

Ok here's a very brief overview of this weeks jobs pages. There are more than this obviously, but these are the ones that I've either been asked to look for or the ones that there seem to be a lot of.

Full page of teaching jobs in various disciplines, including two positions for principals.

Approx. 4 pages of engineering jobs

Absolutely loads of Bookkeeping/Accounts/Admin jobs (all spread out so not sure how many exactly, but looking like 3 pages full)

Half a page of mechanics positions

6 beauty therapist jobs

9 boiler makers

1 bricklayers advert (numerous positions, immediate starts, in all suburbs) and 1 labourers position (as above)

8 cabinetmakers jobs

4 carpenter jobs

19 cleaners jobs (pay between $17 and $25 per hour) (maybe that needs to go on the MODL list  :D )

9 concreters positions (paying $35 per hour!)

22 drivers jobs

12 electricians vacancies (domestic and industrial)

18 hairdressers jobs

1 plasteres job

4 plumbers jobs (one year 3/4 apprentice reuired, rest need to be fully licenced)

3 printing positions

11 receptionist jobs

5 Truck Drivers

26 chefs/12 cooks

10 childcare positions (assistants/managers)
