What is happening to the English (Australian) Language

Oh I love them all.

I love defo, I say that allll the time. Before I came here.

I also used to say 'defo' before coming to Aus!!

I don't like:
garbo

Oh I've not heard garbo, I don't like that.

I like 'Goldie' and 'Brissie'

I have to register with the NSW nursing board and my husband kept on about Rego what a stupid thing to say!!

I like them all as its representative of Australian culture. It's the bastardisation of the English language as spoken in the UK that got my goat.

I use omg all the time. I do also say it all the time, well oh my god obviously, not omg. I don't like the other two though I have to agree.

I think what is really needed in the "Australian Citizenship Test" is the following question:

1) What is the maxo numbo of 'syllies' in the common Aussie lingo?

I've taken to abbreviating "Lamington National Park" to "Lamo".

I've heard "preso" for "presentation".

Some place name abbreviations are useful; it is much easier to say "indro" than "indooroopilly" for example.

Arent there localisations of the Queens English EVERYWHERE!!!

I laugh at some of the things my cockney mates say here

But not as much as they laugh at my Wenglish!!!

I even brought a book of 'Wenglish' translations from Wales with me!!

Isnt this part of the beauty of being different...

Don't get annoyed, sometimes it's easier and quicker.
