They have obviously heard about your timekeeping abilities. By saying 10 minutes early, they think you might be in on time. Perhaps they should say 2 hours early

I have been in the pub midweek (which closes at 11pm) and been told at 10pm they are shutting early as it is quiet (about 30 people left) and that the bar would be closing in 20 mins. 5 mins later I tried to order another round (we were sitting at the bar) and were told the bar was closed.
Despite the fact the bar had been advertising in the Casino that they would be showing the match, my mates were told they were closing because not enough people were watching it.
This is the 24 hours Crown Casino for heavens sake And the bar shuts if there are not enough people in it.
Its like a bus pulling over and stopping cos theres not enough passengers on it. Weird concept.

Well, thats not just a WA or QLD thing. When I was working in Melbourne, a few mates were going to the Sports Bar in the Crown Casino to watch the Rangers Celtic match. Obviously due to time difference it was on at some ungodly hour like 1am.
Despite the fact the bar had been advertising in the Casino that they would be showing the match, my mates were told they were closing because not enough people were watching it.
