Default 4 day work week!

I am so over having to work for 5 days out of 7.
I vote that Mr Rudd imposes a 4 day work week for all.
Obviously we would still receive the same pay & conditions, just not have to go to work on Monday

What say you all?

Well my OH goes into work Mon, Thurs and Fri, and works Tue and Wed from home - he loves it and feels like he only works 3 days a week

I say that change starts with oneself. Do something about it

Well, I could reduce my hours but still would be very unlikely to get Mondays off & certainly would not get the same rate of pay! I love my choice of career so that is not about to change either!

Any other suggestions?

You should get the same rate of pay, ie the same hourly rate of pay.

Your take home wage may be more than 4/5 of what you take home now, due to income tax calculations.

Alternatively, look into working a compressed working week, annualised hours, or working from home one day a week etc.

I'm going to 4 days in the new year I'm taking Fridays off. I was going to take Mondays off 'til I realised most public holidays fall on a Monday.

I work a 9 day fortnight. Extra 50 minutes each day which I hardly notice, then an extra week day off once a fortnight. This is the way forward.....

That's another option at my place, cookiestar. I think you're right - let's get that work-life balance sorted.

I'm thinking of going to 4 days with Wednesdays off in the new year. I already have every 4th Friday off, so those weeks with RDOs and Wednesday off would be most excellent.

when I used to work full time I asked for a Wednesday off so I had a 4 day week, it was great and I was only about $20 worse off as I paid less tax buy losing the a days pay! So it was well worth it - I am a lazy sod now though and I could never go back to working full time again........think even the thought of a 2 day work week scares me now
