10 interesting things
 

Thought it might be fun to list 10 interesting things about yourselves, so we can all get to know each other better :) . I'll start (heck, now I hope I can think of 10....)

1. My OH is an Aussie.

2. I have met the Queen twice. Once was live on BBC1 and once I was invited for tea at Buck House.

3. I ride a motorbike. (Honda CBR 600)

4. I went to school with Pete Doherty (I used to play badminton with him!), Duncan from Blue, and as it turns out, fellow BEer mrsperthforme!

5. I am a qualified PADI Divemaster and have been diving for 10 years. Regularly dive around the UK and various places further afield.

6. I am getting married next June in Cornwall. In a castle. Where my parents live (they don't live in the castle, just in Cornwall!). Then hopefully moving to Brisbane soon after that.

7. A couple of years ago OH and myself took 12 months off work and went travelling around the world. Was the best 12 months of my life.

8. I love the beach and love sand, but HATE getting sand on me when I'm wet. I have to be totally dry after coming out of the sea before I can sit down (even on a towel). If I see someone wet getting sand all over them it makes me feel quite ill.

9. I am a bit of an adrenalin junkie and apart from my diving and motorbiking, I have done a couple of parachute jumps, hang gliding, white water rafting, zorbing, sand boarding etc. And have done the highest bungee jump in the world (never again).

10. I cycle (bicycle) to work in central London every day, even in the winter.

1. I'm a published author.
2. I used to appear on Gamesmaster with Dominic Diamond :lol:
3. I'm ambidextrous.
4. I was interviewed on charges of suspected terrorism by SO13 at the age of 12.
5. I've been run over by a car travelling in excess of 70mph and, on a separate occasion, went through the windscreen in a car accident.
6. I competed in swimming at a national level.
7. I was a DJ for over 10 years and accrued a collection of over 5000 records.
8. I have visited over 22 countries and lived in four.
9. I was nearly kicked out of college for using Janet (the Joint Academic Network) to mooch around on the computers at Polaris House from where the Admiralty control the movements of our submarine based nuclear deterent.
10. I can skip. Really well. (Boxing training in case you're wondering). :)

3. I can wolf whistle really, really well.

4. I've only ever won one thing in my entire life... a bottle of Jack Daniels (which I don't like)

5. I used to swim for my county.

6. I can raise either eyebrow.

7. I'm related to two famous people on both sides of my family.

8. I have a medal for long jump.

9. I'm really a strawberry blonde....shhhhh

10. I remember seeing Hutch on Gamesmaster. :D

I wish I could do that - I'm crap at whistling. I can just about make a breathy one note vague sound, but nothing more. Certainly can't make a tune. And definitely can't wolf whistle.

Yours are very interesting ....mine a little less but here you go

1) I have appeared live on songs of praise when i was 10 in our school choir

2) I was involved in the Summerland fire in the Isle of Man where 72 people died

3) I was run over by a bread van when i was 5 years old and escaped with a broken arn

4) I have a madonna type gap in my teeth which i detest

5) I have spondalolathesis

6 ) My middle name is Isabella which as i a child i hated so i used to say it was marie and carried on this lie for a number of years......i love the name Isabella now

7 ) I worry about dying but work with it most days !

8) I have been bitten by a dog

9 ) i have smoked pot

10 ) I have met many famous celebs when i worked as a silver servicee waitress in the Adelphi hotel in Liverpool

My sister has one of those - when we were kids her party piece was that she could fit a MacDonald's chip through the gap with her mouth closed!

1. I have appeared on TV on "the Cars the Star".

2. I have been to the top of the Sears Tower in Chicago.

3. I have had an article published in a well known Magazine.

4. I went back to University at 28 and just finished at 32.

5. I am a qualified Mechanic but dont fix cars.

6. I have a B-tec national in Mechanical Engineering but don't do engineering.

7. I have been to several illeagal raves and loved them.

8. I have owned more cars than I have had birthdays.

9. My favourite sport is Boxing and follow it very closely.

10. I love Music and own over 2,000 cd's.


Not a greatly interesting person but hey hopefully there is still plenty of time to improve on that.

I think it's really interesting hearing all the different things people have done and the things they are in to. But maybe I'm just nosey :)

2/ I once sat on Tommy Coopers lap

3/ I once won an art competiton at school ( tickets to a very boring play )

4/ had a dog when we were growing up that lived to the old age of 21

5/ I dont/ cant burp !

6/ Have a fear of spiders

7/ once found a mushroom that looked like Kenny from South park

8/ I like wine

9/ Im on my second glass !

10/ its my birthday today

Well, here are my (not so) interesting things

1. I have 3 children all born in different countries (Germany, Northern Ireland, Berlin)

2. I have lived in 20 homes in 6 countries, on 2 continents

3. I qualified as a RYA Baltic Watchkeeper

4. I am trained in the use of a Sub Machine Gun (and a couple of other firearms)

5. I lived in Berlin when the wall came down

6. I worked at the school next door to Jackie Chans house in Hong Kong

7. I have a General Service Medal

8. For years my parents made me believe my first name was hyphenated

9. I am allergice to elastoplast

10. I have hypermobility

Would get a pizza in but John cant eat them ! had a bet with his brothers once that he couldn't eat all the chillis off the hot & spicy pizzas they were eating at the time! he ate them all and got food poisoning apparently ! ( off work for a week )nothing to do with the 12 + pints he had also drunk :rofl:
They also didnt pay him !!

So pizza is a no go in our house

Okay, here´s some reason why I am sof###inggood too:

1. I know Cathy Freeman (Olympic Gold Medalist and Australian of the Year) and my sister shared Best Sportswoman of the Year with her at high school.

2. Scott "Hucknell" - as pronounced by the prime minister, his Honorable John Howard - cough - (Young Australian of the Year) has been to my other sisters place and was great friends with my sister. Man, that just reinforces point No. 1 up there.

3. My great great great grandfather was mates with Charles Dickens

4.5. I am an heiress to a 2 million dollar property in Malta.

4. My Maltese grandparents left on the last ship to Australia from Malta during WW2.

5. I speak with and see dead people regularly. I solved the detalis of a 20 year murder mystery crime through intuition in less than 5 minutes.

6. I have a degree, and my siblings and I were in the top 10 percent of the country academically, just like everyone else in my super intelligent family.

7. My mother met the queen of England as well and had a cup of tea in the tea garden at Buckingham Palace when she was in England in the 1960's.

8. I have lived in 3 different countries and hiked up the tallest mountain in the UK.

9. My sister had the opportunity to have a new fossil named after her but knocked it back.

10. I was chased through the street by a pissed off bikie and have been falsely accused of being an infamous notorious Brisbane animal napper in an illegal dog fighting criminal ring.

11. My first and only piano teacher spoke of my debut ability as only being possible if having been a concert pianist in a past life.

For all these reasons and more, I am a complete a##hole.

2. I lived rough on the streets of Amsterdam for a couple of months

3. I used to eat fire for a living.

4. I lived opposite the HouseMartins when I was at university

5. I can juggle six balls.

6. I was a chess technical advisor on the set of Neighbours

7. I once hitchhiked from Hull to Chambery because I was bored.

8. I appeared on stage in Le Chat Noir Club in Pigalle, Paris.

9. Carrots are my favourite food.

10. I have very long arms for my height

1 Me and the missus share the same birthday.

2 Our son was born on our first wedding anniversary.

3 I married the same woman twice, the second time on the anniversary of our first wedding and our sons 16th birthday.

4 I am a published author.

5 I featured in a half hour documentary with Esther Rantzen with a couple I used to work with who had learning disabilities and were parents.

6 I was a movie critic for the day for the film I am Sam in the Guardian.

7 I have contributed to most major newspaper articles on the problems faced by parents with learning disabilities.

8 I had a trial at Southampton when I was 14 and was told I was too little and too slow to make the grade.

9 I moved to Australia 30 months ago and have been blessed with good luck.

10 I have a 13 inch cock.

2) Sean Connery ran his hands through my hair when I met him as a kid at Gleneagles

4) I sound Irish, my wife sounds american, and our kids sound like screaming ozzies
5)If you've ever used Lotus 1-2-3 or Lotus Notes, you've used some of my code
6) If you've ever made an international money transfer, I wrote some of that too. But no, I've no idea why it takes 5 days :p
7) I appeared on 'Romparoom' as a child. My TV career didn't take off.
8) I've crashed a Renault 21 estate into a lampost at 80 miles an hour six feet in the air. Only one scar.
9) I've watched the car in front of me explode and our windshield blow in from the blast.

2. I'm rather good at trivia/general knowledge and was once on Sale of the Century
3. I have a phobia of moths and butterflys
4. I came to Australia alone and didn't know a single soul in Sydney when I arrived.
5. I'm trying to learn French for the fourth time
6. Met countless famous people in my days as a hotel receptionist and trolley dolly in the 70s.
7. Celtic music gives me goosebumps.
8. I can wiggle my ears.
9. I sneeze in the sun.
10. The door of an aircraft I was working on once, opened 400 feet out of Manchester airport :eek:
