Hi I am currently in UK and my new employer in Barbados has applied for a work permit in middle of August.Please can any one tell me how long it will take before I get my work permit to come through

Common guys and girls need your advice I don't have asingle post yet...Is there another site in which I get more replies any suggestions welcome..

No one can tell you specifically how long your work permit application will take to process as its all individual thats probably why you didnt get a response the best people to ask is your employers who are processing your application as they will know how their company works in relation to timelines with immigration

and a word of warning to those that are living here and have a work permit already.

Thanks for you both for your posts....I am a bit nervous and uncertain about what the future holds.... I will contact my employers and see what they have to say..I would really appreciate any posts from people with similar situations like who are waiting and who are living in the country

If you own a property in B'dos, does that give you any special right to stay longer than the usual 1 month ? it would be nice to retire in Barbados and spend 6 months of the year here ... and enjoy the rest back home in UK.

Anyone know of any such law/right?
