Can you tell me how long probate is for a deceased persons will for money to be released etc? I believe it is 17 days but would appreciate it if anyone can confirm this.

Anyone on this site will tell you that the workings of Barbados change minute to minute, nothing is predictable. This goes for the courts, the port, immigration, you name it. Best of luck.

What Zanne is trying to say is, this site is full of people asking questions about Barbados.. some are of a legal nature, which, unless i"m completely off base, is really something that should be asked directly to a lawyer here in Barbados, or directly to whomever is looking after the will.

the next thing she is saying is that Barbados is one of those places where things change second by second. Case in point. there IS a law that people must wear seatbelts and it is illegal to ride in the bed of an open back truck.. but people do it.. and the police don't really do anything about.. (and people get killed that way).

anyway.. I am going to suggest again.. please contact a lawyer in Barbados for this information, unless there is one who reads these boards and doesn't mind giving out this information..

I forgot to mention...traffic, the bank, the grocery store...
