Default Moving To Barbados

Hi All

Just found this site! "Thankfully" Just what i needed. Hope you can help?

I would be here all night with all the questions i want and need to ask, but i wont bore you all straight away.

My Husband and I and 2 daughters have a passion for Barbados since we married there 19 years ago and have returned so many times since. We have now decided to move to paradise.

What i would like to know firstly is it possible to move and live there without working there. Our income would come from companies that we own in England.

Thats it for now, as i said i dont wish to bore you all with hundreds of questions from the off.

Hope you can help.

Nikki

Hi there..
The answer to your question is yes. The main criteria if you do not intend to work there is to show that you can support yourself and will not be a charge on the country. Good luck with your move, you will love Barbados

Hi Chris,
This may be a little cheeky but you never get unless you ask.

I am emigrating over to Barbados permanently to live and work, preferably in that order. Prior to part one of my fact finding trip over this year, I intend to come into London to speak with someone at the High Commission.

I was wondering if we could meet so that I could pick your brains a little. I work better in person as I seem to forget to ask the important questions on this medium.

With REgards

Duncan

Hi Duncan

No problem at all. I fly out to Barbados on the 17th of this month for two weeks but anytime before or after is cool with me.
You can email me on (SNIP) to make the arrangements.
Regards
Chris

Hi Duncan and Chris, read your messages with interest because I seem to want a similar thing. I will contact you direct Chris when I can (need 3 posts) because your apartments look amazing but depends on price. I have also only ecer travelled with a Holiday company so would need advice booking flights, taxi to apartment and hiring a car or using a trusted local taxi - single female! Will be in touch when I can unless I read on here how you are progressing Duncan!

Hello Chris, Good afternoon Moonlight Walks,

Yes chris I would very much like to meet up Prior to my trip over. I will PM you tomorrow with my contact details and see if we can't arrange a time and place. I trust you visit went well and you are refreshed from your travels. Personally I always feel a little down after being away. Takes a few days?weeks to get back into the swing of things.

And Rhona? I think I have seen you post that name here somewhere, apologies if I am incorrect, the travel plans are going well and are all booked paid for and just need to get myself out there now. The only down side is not having concrete interviews to go to for possible jobs. Still I never have been shy and will put my best foot forward and Cold call alot of places that don't even know that they have been missing me on their work force. HA HA.

When are you looking at travelling as I will be on the Island during the first two weeks of April, and though I do not kow the Island as well as I would like to would be happy to escort you to and fro to aid in my journey of Discovery.

Regards

Duncan
