Re: Immigration?
you need to clarify what you are looking for.. if you are planning to move to Barbados.. a US passport holder married to an EU passport holder doesn't entitle you anything but a visitors visa in Barbados. If you are coming here for a job, a work permit would be required for the person who is working and that should allow the other person to live here, but not work and would allow a child to live here and go to school. but you need to be a bit more specific about your intentions to get the correct answer..

Re: Immigration?
US and EU maximum of 3 month tourist visa. I believe if you can extend to a maximum of 6 month, when you show that you have the $ and accommodation to support yourself. Great Britain citizen 6 month Visa. (Think they can extend as well)
The only way to get a working permit (for a period of time) is if you have a job, which is urgently needed in Bim but no local to fill. In this case the company has to apply for a work permit at immigration for you. Right now extremely difficult I believe. A few years ago e.g. Chefs were on demand.
If you have enough cash to buy property, you might get a permit to stay longer than 3 or 6 month, but no work permit.
You can open a business, Ltd, but have to employ a certain amount of Barbadians.
In any case you can't just go there and live or work. Also marriage doesn't mean necesarily you get a work permit or a permanent residence. You have to go for health checks, provide police certificates of characters from every country you have lived before etc etc.
All this can take up to 2 years. Because once you got a permanent residence, you are elidgable for the free health care etc.
Depends from case to case. -
