It is lovely! And the same thing (forgetting details) is why I'm keeping a blog starting now - before we even get there! LOL!
Love ALL your pictures and updates - keep it up, eh!

http://pondhopper2014.wordpress.com is mine... but no pictures of the UK yet (except the header, which is Chatsworth House, I took that picture when we were there in 2010) - working on that.
Do you have a blog too? I love the blog idea, not only does it allow the passing of information around, but it encourages (like this place does) and inspires!

Well, I've spent a couple of hours on this so far, and am now up to page 22.
It is the most uplifting thread I have ever read, (and there are some beauties here on BE);- I hope it has remained so (no spoilers please!!).
I'm beginning to realise that to appreciate Great Britain we have to be away from it for some time.
I hope that even a small percentage of this happens to me when I return in November.
Thank-you Whofan for what is effectively a stunning blog with positive contributions from so many!
It is balm for this weary soul.

What I like on here as opposed to elsewhere is you dont get the sad naysayers jumping on these threads trying to piss on people parades.
A great read.

I'm currently banished to London's Heathrow Airport and I think it is the closest place to hell on earth. I missed my flight back to the US because we had a mechanical out of Dublin.
Cheers

What does that mean, cheers...a mechanical out of Dublin? Also, what's so awful about Heathrow? I've never been there.

Heathrow is fine as an aiport but at the end of day of the day it is just an airport.
