Zippidy do da!!! I got it!!!
OK, we're only talking about my NZ driving licence. But hey! - let's celebrate success.
I got 35/35 - what a cool performance I think you'll agree and I join Ian and Paula in Christchurch amongst the hallowed ranks of the perfect score. My test took about 2 minutes to complete - I was slowed down by the need to scratch off the answer each time. Seriously, anyone who bothers to read the NZ road code will pass the theory test and you only need to get 32/35 anyway. So don't worry, any prospective testees - just read the code and she'll be right. |
Well done, Don. :D
Of course, in NSW we have 45 questions... maybe we should have a 'perfect score' table? And yes, I got 45/45. My wife says I'm a smart-arse! :D |
Now all you have to do is work out this give way from the right rule which is blimmin confusing!!
When I was driving in NZ I just adopted my 'driving in London' technique which is go when you want, where you want and gesture angrily at anyone who gets in your way!!!;) Well done on getting it - life's little triumphs and all that. |
So it was Pollster who cut me up....and I was blaming the Kiwis!!!
Well done Don - for the speedy scratching AND the test! |

How are the little PF's doing in the bright lights of Dunedin? Have you been up to Larnacks Castle yet? (Propably spelt that wrong, sorry) |

Congratulations!
I am (apparently) the only person ever to fail the South Australia driving test. Fortunately I was just practising online in the UK - but I think I had better start swotting now! (Clever husband got full marks). Grrr. :( |

Originally posted by pleasancefamily Yeah I got in free (Larnach) because I blagged my way in saying we wanted to check out the Stables motel units (cheap good accomodation if anyone is interested). Nice garden + view. Kids love it here, my just-3 year old is just starting to ride his bike and the other one is walking about like a pro now (started at 11 months). |

OK - let me tell you about the horror of another driving test I had to endure all those years ago. Place: a small and very horrible middle eastern country where I was working.
Test started at 4 am (yes, that's 4 hours after midnight and pitch black - it was Ramadan), an Arab mate from work picked me up, good fellow. Practical/ in the testing pound: 1) Reverse hill start, 2) Reverse obstacle course, 3) Reverse parking into a very tight spot. Road: drive for 10 minutes with 3 other testees sitting in the back, you all get to switch places every 10 minutes. All that reversing was terrible but I passed! And all because the Chief of Police got busted for cruising for hookers in London. Until then it was automatic for UK licence holders. |

It's enough to leave one with a terrible empty feeling in one's skull. |
