Default You're Putting it WHERE!

Big Joke at work this afternoon is the planned position of a Nuclear Waste Dump.

Woomera SA.

A message for immigrants who dont get the proper papers perhaps.

Did someone ask the other day how Politically correct OZ is? Well my little aussie workers find this terribly amusing.

Well some have said they should be held in Albania (ie UK pays the Albanian govt a service fee to hold the refugees until their appeal is heard). I personally reckon the Stornaway economy could do with a nice boost...difficult to get away from and one of the foulest weather places in the UK. Did you see how the number of boat people went down to virtually zero for Australia since the harsher policy was instated?

Nothing against real refugees, mind you, but I don't reckon there are very many of them. Blair screws up again.

Cheers - Don

Another couple of anti-immigrant emigrants.

Immigrants to the UK are trying to give themselves and their families a better life. Just what you want to do by leaving the UK and giving downunder the pleasure of your company. You are taking advantage of the imbalance in economies and helping to price locals in NZ/Oz out of the housing market with your money earned in that hell hole the UK. Don't act like you are doing your new countries any favours. As PB says, you are refugees too, so why don't you pack in the hypocrisy?

No wonder the photo of Roxby was taken in the dark. Did you read the grim description of what it has to offer? Jesus.

Australia is paradise. We all know that, and there is little point in discussing it. However, it always comes as a shock to find that there are some flaws in the gem. The very name "Roxby Downs" speaks of moonlight and dance, of cabbages and kings, and so the website is a rough awakening from a daytime dream.

Roxby Downs & Olympic Dam. Name of a sheep station and an earthen tank. Probably named by a sunstruck and fly blown Pom with grand dreams.

What does Roxby Downs mean in Pom speak?

It's not so much what it means as the images it conjures up in the mind of an English romantic. Roxby sounds like the wedding of Roxy and Ruby - the image is that of a red stone-encrusted dance hall. And "Downs" turns the mind to the Surrey Downs - rolling hills and the simple English life: healthy and wholesome; a sense of history; a walk amongst the stars.

I suppose a sheep station is near enough.
