You find yourself having morning tea, then afternoon tea!

An English accent starts sounding odd to you and an Aussie one sounds normal.

All your sentences end in 'no worries' or but!

You tell your relies it is cold when it is 22c!

Your kids say pro-ject and have training wheels on their bikes.

Ah, same as the Yanks then. Same comment for "project" too. Curious, considering that spelling is (generally? invariably?) English rather than American.

I'm not even there yet but am married to an Aussie and already use the following

duna
chips
parsta instead of pasta (but i do always correct myself on that one)
pants
and I always say "can I get a Jacks and coke thanks" rather than "please may I have a jd and coke" (oooh actually typing that makes you realise how rude it sounds)

but the worse thing is I am always asked if I am South African or Kiwi. How an West Australian accent can rub off on Southern British girl and end up spounding Kiwi or South African I am not sure.

Which reminds me... how long does it take before you start to recognise the regional accents? (I was moved to wonder about this by hearing Cathy Freeman on Radio 4 this morning, thinking "well she doesn't sound anything like Kylie" and then realising that I couldn't possibly begin to pin a region on either of them!)

And if someone in the office asks if you've got any Durex, don't think you've just got lucky - it's a brand of sticky-tape.

A few more:

1. You can say Koala without saying bear at the end.
2. You've forgotten what an Off Licence is.
3. When you return to the UK, you convert everything into dollars.

Australia has off licenses, at least in NSW. I'm pretty certain that's the license a bottle shop carries.
