From memory 30,000-ish Poms emigrate to Australia every year. Guessing that on average people take a year to get skills assessments, visas and sell the house then there must be something like 29,999 other people in the same situation.

We finally decided to "emigrate" on 17th Jan 2004. Hubby had his medical 20th Jan 2004. Hubby's Police checks (from Scotland) arrived on 3rd Feb 2004. Had visa (defacto spouse) stamped in hubby's passport 6th Feb 2004. 11 days from start to finish !!!
Having said that those 11 days were a nightmare. How you guys that wait months / years cope I dont know. Hats off to you !
