Default Yeeha!!!!

WE'VE GOT IT!!!!!!!!

Sorry for shouting, but we've just had the e-mail to say that
our visas have been approved and as its done electronically
we don't have to send pasports or anything!!

Now the fun really starts!!!!

I'll let you know dates etc once we have the flights.

I can't quite believe it all yet.

As we're going out on a Temp 4 year (subclass 457)
I don't think we have a timeline like PR applicants.

Its been realtively short, the subject of going to
Oz first surfaced in December, the job etc was
finally sorted out at the end of March and now
the visa is done. It would have been quicker, but
the company's approval to sponsor employees had lapsed
and had to be reapplied for.

Though I know its a lot shorter than PR, it seems to have gone
on for ages. But I'm sure the next 2 months will whizz by!!!

Now the hard work starts, sorting, packing etc.

That's something I've been meaning to ask somebody. Say if my missus is granted a visa two days before we leave and we don't have time to get her sticker.

From my understanding, she's been granted a visa regardless of what's in her passport, how then would airlines etc, know her status?

BTW Congratulations!!!!

You will have to send the passport to the Washington Embassy. Sometime people front end loading partner visas include the passport with the application.

Airlines have a link to the DIMIA system. They can type in the passport no and up pops up a visa no and name etc. For some types of visa eg ETA, WHV, 457s a label is not required. For other types a label (inc partner visas) is needed. Sometimes DIMIA cock up the label details and they do not match the computer record. If this happens ask to speak to a supervisor at the check in area. A call to DIMIA can normally sort this out.
