Hi All

May have been mentioned before here.. but a little confused.

What if the exchange rate is stil poor for house sale proceeds and we move to OZ to live off savings until the increases ??...what are the mechanics for moving the proceeds over successfully.

We obviously have OZ bank accts set up and are registered with OZForex + HIFX.

Just that you need to give an instruction to your UK bank to xfer money to the Uk forex company....Canyou do this online in OZ for a UK bank account, sending a cheque by post from OZ obviously undesirable.

Anyone had experiences of this ? grateful for help...including best UK account to have for money once in OZ.

Confused ? so am I -lol.

I think it depends on the bank and its online limits. Abbey National lets you transfer any amount online to any other UK account.

A lot of banks limit the transfer amount online. Make sure that you speak to your bank and they will accept fax or phone instructions from you for large transfer amounts as it may require an authority form to be signed.

nationwide need an written agreement and seem to take ages to send the money took them 2 1/2 weeks to do it

were very unhelpfull with oh when he asked

they stated that he would have to come in to branch and sign a form when told that he would be in au and couldn't do that they pulled faces

eventually they said he could send form in asked them if we could fax letter to them they said no it has to go through snail mail:curse:


we have to do it again soon not looking forward to it
