Default Worst Curry (EVER!) northside:warning

Last Saturday evening, after a hard shift walking round Chermside shops, but made worth it with a few pints of Guinness at Gilhooleys afterwards, decided on an Indian takeaway.

So having been recomended Miss India at Aspley, decided to give it a go.....BIG mistake

I would go as far to say it was the worst dining experience ever, so if you fancy an Indian takeaway, go to Coles buy one of those 'Curry Tonight' jars and some chicken and rice and DIY, it will be no worse than little miss Indias!!!

We found it hard to find an Indian we liked, the tastes are different over here. Anyway we discovered Anisha's in Avoca (nowhere near Brisbane of course ) and really enjoyed it. If you ask them they will do a chicken tikka masala London style too. We love their Jalfrezi chicken and the mixed nishdoori platter for 2. Yummmm

So anyone living on the Central Coast in NSW give them ago. There logo is like mcdonalds but dont let that fool you.

Try the Jaipur Palace, 3/379 Main Road, Wellington Point. Not bad at all, apparently it's a sub-branch of one in Wolverhampton!

Spice Avenue in Birkdale comes highly recommended. It's owned by the people who had the one in Wolverhampton.

Cheers

Hi guys,

Good to hear from you. It's been quite tough here. I've been reallllllly homesick. More than I thought! Getting easier. How's things going at your end. Nearly here yet? If there's anything we can do for you just yell.

Cheers and say hi to Stella x

You'll get over the homesick bit with time and you knew it would be tough.

We have just sent off the visa application via our agent OE in Edinburgh so its as you know, pretty much the waiting game now!

Thanks for the help offer and I'm pretty sure that we will be in regular contact nearer the time which hopefully won't be long.

Regards to Les and the kids x

We finally got to the Spice Avenue last night and had a real good balti we will definately be paying further visits.

One down side is no BYO beer so I would have had to pay $5 for a beer.

AAAAARGH, you're right, I was getting the two mixed up! Jaipur Palace was a bit disappointing, Spice Avenue was pretty good and, as you say, has the Wolverhampton connection!
