Working as a teacher in SA???
I may be missing something somewhere. I am going to SA Adelaide area in June and would like to carry on working as a secondary/tertiary teacher of Business/IT/Communications/Media. I search CareerOne site at least twice a week and teaching jobs in any subject seem very few and far between (for the past month or so there have been plenty of jobs in Kuwait on this site). In addition look at on line papers etc etc but its as barren as .........
Now - if I do even the most cursory search using Times Educational Website I find there are on average about 7000 new vacancies a week and where I work we find it increasinly hard to replace staff. I realise population of Oz much smaller etc etc but does this really account for the total lack of any jobs or am I missing something. My Oz cousins keep saying - there was another article in the Advertiser saying there is a big teacher shortage and that many qualifiied teachers were off to UK to work fr a year. So my question is for anyone involved in teaching - are there jobs around and where else should I look - I know I sound ignorant, no common sense etc but I would be most pleased to receive advice on getting into teaching from someone in the know. Obviously if it's impossible to get into life in a call centre/Hungry Jack's beckons.

There is definitely a teacher shortage in Oz, but not sure where they advertise for them though. Have you tried :
www.seek.com.au
www.mycareer.co.uk
www.monster.com.au
http://employment.byron.com.au
https://jobsearch.gov.au
alternative job search sites.
Good luck
