Working in primary schools

Working in primary schools
I'm desperately seeking help regarding how to get work in primary schools in Victoria in particular. In short I worked as a Learning Support Assistant in UK mainly alongside children with learning difficulties or behavioural problems. I have just registered with Select Education here and find that they will only book me out to ABC Centres, working with children aged 0-5 years. They now tell me I need to verify my UK qualification before they will send me out to primary schools. I have the CACHE (Council Awards in Child Care and Education) at both certificate and diploma levels. I worked in primary schools for 3 years before emigrating and have brought references with me. I am currently sat waiting on a call from the Victorian Institute of Teaching to try and find out where I stand with this...but if anyone out there has been down the same road then your advice would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks...Jayne Hagan...

To work in a school you are looking at an integration aide's position. Search here https://schooljobs.education.vic.gov...RAM.HRS_CE.GBL
You will have to do an Integration Aide course http://www.education.monash.edu.au/s...ationaide.html
To teach in a school you need a degree. Your diploma may count towards Aus degree as a credit.
http://www.earlychildhoodvictoria.org.au/ These people assess your CACHE award.

If you have one of these quals should be straightforward.
When you apply to EarlyChildhood include your short-course certificates you got from the LEA as they like to see you are up-to-date.
Not sure what Select is saying as you need the Integration Aide course.
Not sure whether you know but pre-school is kinder and not controlled by VicGov. They are local centres run by the parents who elect a Board every year.
I know all this because Mrs is NNEB who used to work in schools in UK and now works for a kinder to get the school holidays.
When we first arrived she worked for various childcare centres placed via Select.
If you want to talk to her PM me and I will get her to answer.
