Working jointly in both the UK and Aus
Hello to you all, just hoping for addvice. I have been offered some consultancy work in the UK but we are still considering a move to Aus. Anyone know whether I am able to live and work in Aus permanently but still return to the UK for a week or so to work in the UK? I would imagine it's fine but what about paying tax etc - who too? Do I pay all tax to the Aus authority ? A weeks consultancy work will more than double the cost of flying and provide a nice holiday return so financially it will be worth it.
Thanks
Thanks

Yes, you can.
I returned for 4-6 weeks a year at one time, for my work.
Invoice the company from Australia for your income, and all travel costs will be deductible. (Subject to some rules, such as working all the time you are there)
That way no UK tax becomes involved.
I have been out of tax for a few years now, and some things do change, so it would be worth double checking with a tax accountant, although I feel sure that the above will still be correct.
