Working Hours?
Husband just added up work hours for last month average 56 hour weeks. Me in my cushy little office number still racked up average 45 hours. (Admittedly as have to stay in office during lunch and tea break using internet for good hour a day usually laughing at this website). Then having mobile phones switched on from 8am to 7pm seven days a week for calls.
Just wondering how many hours others work in OZ? And travel times?

My better half works an average of 38hrs a week & gets half day Friday. Takes about 15mins to get there. Always takes him longer to get back - has something to do with boys/cars/bars
I prefer my working hours/conditions.... I drag myself out of bed when I feel like it, work what hours I can be bothered to do quite a lot of business in the local pub - life as a freelance journo really does hav its advantages

You can work twice as hard in Australia for half the money . luck and contacts count.
Most here are Ute guys , self employed I have never seen a Yellow pages so thick for such a small population .
The average Aussie works longer for less and will undercut his best mate for quick buck , you need to live cheap here to live its hard to make a buck and easy to slip into debt.

And a 20 to 25 min drive in the mornings , takes a bit longer going back home, around 35 minutes in rush hour.
cheers

40 hrs/week - have to take lunch on my own time - so this makes it 42.5 hrs/week at work so's to speak.
Add 1/2 hr travel from door to office chair and back (walk-train-walk) makes it a total of 47.5 hrs away from the better half and the little terrors.
