WORKING HOLIDAY VISA / MEDICAL COVER
hi all, i am going to aus on tuesday on whv, flights are booked
i am wondering if i have to get medical cover? as sure i read somewhere when i applyed for visa that i may need to prove cover at entry? but i have all so read some where that british citizens have cover already as both our governments have some sort of agreement in place?

well yess , but if your on a whv, 2000 aud a year is a bit of money until im set up and earning some money. plus if the british government have some sort of plan set up together, i would rather save that 2000 aud.

I am pretty sure it does not cost $2000 for some travel insurance. There is some reciprocal cover, but it would not for example get you repatriated to UK if required.

You really need to buy travel insurance.
