Default Working holiday in Tassie

Carl and I...who work for the same company...are going on an expenses paid working holiday to Tasmania in July ( ) for two weeks - we run Chess tournaments and coaching in schools.
We'll have a fair amount of time to ourselves, and want to know what the 'must sees' are.

We'll be travelling all over the State.

Thanks, Cas

Cas,

Port Arthur, the south west coast(blowhole, remarkable cave),Bruny island, Hobart city around the harbour/Salamanca (market on Saturday morning),Richmond is a lovely village reasonably close to Hobart.Wineglass Bay,lots of lovely, pristine beaches along the east coast, Launceston (Cataract Gorge), Cradle Mountain. We've yet to get there but I believe the west coast has alot of natural beauty. We really enjoy taking the kids to a small beach on the north west coast called Boat Harbour Beach...we love it.

Just being nosey but are you coming to any schools in Launceston?

Peter

Yep, good list of 'must see's'. I reckon the east coast beaches are mandatory; Port Arthur; all that area up through Richmond, Ross etc is well worth seeing; Queenstown is interesting; Strahan etc on west coast, the Nut at Stanley etc on north west coast; the Cadbury's factory at Claremont, the casino (at Wrest Point is it?); Mt Wellington............ Enjoy the trip Caz and Carl.

Thanks to you too..

It'll be hectic,,but we'll get a fair amount of sight-seeing - we'll only work from 8.30 till 2pm at the schools; and we'll be travelling all over the island to different schools.

I do love my new job

Seeing as you are into chess and all that Caz, please answer something that I've always wondered (I'm not a chess player).

Do we say Checkmate mate in Oz?
