Most knowledge based occupations - with the exception of medical, law, teaching etc - do not need a licence to work.

Basic riggers Ticket,
Dogman Ticket,
You will need these if you want to work on a crane. We use cranes but get an operator - then you dont need it obviously
EWP Ticket,
If you want to be in charge of access equipment over a certain height you will need it - so you will be able to use a cherry picker without one but not a boom. You can be in a boom with a licensed operator - its no drama - course is around 300 and 1 day.
QLD Blue Card?
Blue dog training - get it on line - costs under 200 - cant remember how much. You will need this to work on any "work site". not all work places are worksites. Basically its for building sites. So if you were working as a labourer for a landscaper you wouldnt need it.
and will the employers in queensland will not offer me work if i dont have these licenses?
if there are jobs, and I am not commenting on that, some will expect you to have and some will put you on the courses. Considering there is a recession, I would think it would be far better to just get what you need yourself - also hard hard, steel toe caps, high vis vest etc. If you are planning to work on site.
also if i want to work in food and hospitality industry in queensland then do i require to have RSA responsible service of alchohol and food safety certificate?
If you want to serve alcohol then yes you will have to.

Depends if the BLF (Builders Labourer's Federation) or CMFEU (Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union) is the union on site, as they, especially the BLF, have a history of striking or applying bans, if employers hire non-union labour. If not a financial member, I will guarantee that it will be strongly suggested, read essential, that you join ASAP.

The recession has definitely effected employment in Townsville but it does depend on what you're looking for. There are still some jobs out there. There were plenty of adverts for the hotel/catering industry in the Townsville Bulletin on Saturday....not many for admin type positions. Quite a few in the trade and medical sections as well.
