It is called destiny. Trust it and you will be happy.

But maybe you were destined to read this post and reply in that way

Rather true Johanne, might stick that up on the wall somewhere.

I'm in the 'what a load of cobblers' camp - and it's positively harmful, too.

So you'd either a) deny people the encouragement to apply their wit, intelligence and hard work to get ahead or b) say that whatever, wherever you did or ended up was meant to be - how pointless.

Might as well marry the first no-hoper you meet, take the first crappy job, buy the worst house on the block, ignore the kids, eat bad food, don't take exercise, drink or drug yourself stupid and die an early death: it was all meant to be so you should be happy.

Your little ditty ignores free choice. Which makes us human.

I wouldn't buy that kind of magazine in the first place. I can think of a thousand better ways to spend a buck, starting with a pint of beer.

Maybe it is a female's place to accept her lot in life and just get on with it, which is maybe what the ditty also seems to say.

However, the 'it was meant to be' in the OP's ditty made me think she was in the (1/ 2) school - which I personally think is fodder only fit for fools.

I'm sober as a judge and have been up 2 hours (it's 8am) thanks to the chimps.

Come off it, I like the song 'Che sará, sará' as much as anyone but I called that ditty harmful because whilst it seemingly encourages people to be happy with their lot in life and sounds vaguely related to people migrating...if you read it carefully it is an appeal to indolence and a denial of our ability to make changes for the better in our lives.
