Default A word of advice to parents

Please, before you come out here, teach your kids some Australian history, general knowledge, my 11 yr old thinks he is stupid, but thats because the general knowledge is different, he struggles anyway, I have to keep telling him he is not thick, teach them things like the Australian anthem, they sing it in assembly, and it is lovely, i think. Ned Kelly, places in Oz, just things you can find out on the internet, some kids might not bother but my son felt really stupid. Just a word of advice for you. Denise

Thanks for that - my 8 year old originally didn't want to go to Oz as he didn't speak Australian. We did explain it to him, but it wasn't until we visited this Easter that he finally believed that he too could speak Oz!!
